I have no clue what this critter is. He is a good three inches long. His coloration of army colors is very interesting and his wings as you can see are translucent. The end of his body is weird, like he has a tail. If anyone knows, give me a shout.

Next year the cicadas are due for their 17 year cyclical return to our neck of the woods. It’ll be our first full-on cicada-stravaganza experience.

I thought it might be a green bottle fly. Then I googled it to check and now I don’t think so. There is one thing I am sure of! It a great pic of whatever it is. 😊 Glad you joined in this week, Anita.
