Combatting the Blues

Oh, what to do when we feel so blue?

Sadness or sickness making us go boo-hoo.

So we remember things that make us smile

Like puppies in a row all standing single file

But there are other things that can make you feel better

Like hugs from a friend or maybe a sweet letter

So today, as I still struggle with this ole cold

I’ve made a decision and will try to be bold

No more whining and carrying about

A comfort food will make my happiness sprout

And what better way, in my opinion

Than warm noodle soup and my friend the minion.

Me and my minion friend are wish you a happy day filled with smiles to mark your way.

And remember as you go your way, sprinkle kindness along to brighten the day.

I Moved

I posted last week that I created an office in my spare bedroom which was a good idea to get me off the high chairs I have at my dining room table. Well, it turns out that the second bedroom was not a good choice. Its a corner room with two outside walls and when is -2 degrees outside, that room is a bit chilly. Okay so I am a wimp but the other thing is the light in that room needed new lightbulbs. Easy enough, right…wrong. That light is so old the bulbs are rusted in or just set in place without coming out. I can not do a new light right now so we move again.

My bedroom is quite large with enough room for a small couch. No need for that but my new desk fits perfectly at the end of the bed. I can then rotate in my chair if I want, to watch the fireplace. Daisy loves this choices because she gets to be close to mommy, the fireplace and sprawl all over the bed.

Now we just wait for inspiring words to come to mind to be able to write.

What will we write today??

I think in all that we should write, kindness should always find a way to come forth somewhere, it should be important in all that we do. Even in stories of bad things happening, there can always be a moment of kindness – it gives us hope.

We who write can always add kindness,

A Bumpy Ride

Good evening friends. These past two weeks have definitely been a bumpy ride for a lot of us, with some of us going down roads we really were not ready to go down. But God reminds us that even though we can not see Him and sometimes can not feel Him, we have assured faith that He is there walking with us.

Luke 1 37

It is faith and God’s love that fills us with Hope.
hebrews-11-1
We know that while we suffer on this earth, God himself will restore us and bring us peace.
1-peter-5-10
God will restore you and make you feel His strength and bring you peace and comfort…regardless of your deepest pain.

I leave you with this prayer of restoration, comfort and peace. Hold fast to God’s hand and He will carry you when you can no longer stand.
Strength

And I remind you as always of the majestic gift of kindness. Even when we think we have nothing left to give, a gentle smile may be the only kind thing that person has seen that day. Always be kind.

The Comforter

Good morning friends. Hope you safe and comfortable. Today it is raining here in the midwest of the US but this is the type of rain I love, slow and gentle. You can have some of the best naps in this type of weather, soothing and comfortable. I wanted to share a bit of my devotion from last night’s read. It was a reminder of the deep comfort we have in Jesus. And in this day of confusion and unsure realities, we need all the comfort we can get. God reminds us from Genesis all the way through the bible that he is always with us.

We know this in our minds but when we get too busy or in a uncomfortable situation, our hearts grow weak and we forget where this comfort lies.

When we get lost in the troubles of the day, a gentle comforting nudge from the Holy Spirit reminds us of the awesomeness of His love that surrounds us.
To me, music is a great way to calm my soul.  I love this song I am posted by a Gospel group here called The Gaithers, and the song is Gentle Shepherd. If we allow our fears to calm down we can feel the surrounding of His love as was first intended.
Have a blessed and comforting day. And remember to always extend kindness in all that you do. It is like magic star dust floating everywhere.
