The Power of Love

We generally think of love as gentle, nurturing and healing. While it is ALL of those, it is also powerful. In the fruits of the spirit, it is the first fruit listed…without love, none of the rest matter.

Love is so important that an entire chapter of 1 Corinthians is dedicated to it. And the first verse of that chapter reminds us that it is not frivolously created but must ring true.

So show your love with abounding joy, through healing peace, With utmost patience, with rich goodness, with affirming faith, with quiet gentleness, and with firm self control. And yes I left one out, but this one is always my closing statement. Kindness. Even when we are faced with uphill battles we can still show kindness to others.

Sunday Poser #26

Sunday Poser is a thought provoking challenge by Sadje and her blog to Keep it Alive. Her question today is one that touches home with a lot of people…or it should.

For me, the most inspiring human trait is true love for mankind. While there have been some wonderful attributes already mentioned, to me, if there is no true inner love from the heart and soul for mankind, the other wonderful traits will not be able rise to the surface.

And I push myself for kindness that the world is sorely lacking. With each seed of kindness planted, a tree of beauty will come forth planting many other seeds of kindness.

Remembrance

More Than a Shell

I agree it seems to be an empty shell, a housing we knew and loved so well

I remember back through all the years, the happy times and a mix of tears

I remember the beauty of it adorned, now I look down at it and mourn

Beauty was seen inside and out, always a safe place with danger about

So I come today to bid you adieu, memories I have being filled by you

Comforted now by knowing this peace, the love you shared will never cease

Farewell Mom as you now leave us, feel love and peace in the arms of Jesus

Life has many different emotions we have to face and the death of those we love is probably the hardest. But we can feel the peace we know is there when we are filled with the hope of seeing them again. To those who have recently lost loved ones, my heart goes out to you. May the peace of Christ fill you with his peace and love.

And remember even in our dark times, the use of kindness can reach out and touch hearts in an amazing way.

Always be Kind

CMMC – April Letter E

What a fun challenge tonight. I recently bought this lamp as I have a thing for elephants. So, I added a poem to fit in with Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge. Hope it makes you smile.

Elephant Light

It just a lamp that belonged to me mum

It melts wax, smelling the room of plum

She called it wise because it’s an elephant

An animal who’s strength is significant

But the strongest part of an elephant is heart

For they carry much love for all to be part

Their wisdom is shared all through the herd

From the oldest bull to the youngest one heard

The lessons they teach, are lessons for all

For man needs these lesson, most of all

And as always I remind you to be kind and what better picture that to also have an elephant showing the kindness and playful side of love.

Always Be Kind

What Do You See #79, April 26

Sadie of Keep it Alive has challenged us with an amazing picture to write our thoughts about. Spending a lot of my childhood on the sea, this really spoke to me so…here we go.

I PACE THE SHORELINE

I pace the shoreline. Where are you? Don’t you see the dark is coming?

I pace the shoreline. The smoke filled sky warns of the deadly fires across our land.

I pace the shoreline. The freezing waters turn my feet blue like the sea.

I pace the shoreline. Please understand how much I need you, how much I love you.

I pace the shoreline. The lighthouse laughs at me as it blink on and off. Can you see it?

I pace the shoreline. Waves crash gently against the lighthouse, assurance of a calm sea.

I pace the shoreline. I think I see the tiny silhouette of the boat. Could it really be you.

I pace the shoreline. Please come home to me.

We as humans are emotional creatures. These emotion are a gift from above but must be monitored carefully. Because if we let them have their own course of action, much pain can be made – not always on purpose. So I remind you always to remember the power of kindness, to use it often and to be aware of the beauty it creates.

Always be kind.

Anita Neal — I Write Her

A Monarch Task The warmth awakens me but I am tightly bound. I can’t move. My lifeblood is pulsing through my veins, waiting to explode. My head is pounding and screaming to break free of this dungeon. Yet, I can’t move. A crack appears at the top of the cell, bright light is filtering in. […]

Anita Neal — I Write Her

Thank you so much to Susi Bocks of I Write Her for publishing my poetry. It is an honor and an encouragement when others enjoy what you enjoy doing.

Pros/Cons, SoCS

There are always two sides to any argument. Some will always agree with you and some will fight you about it letting you know you are so wrong. Today I am going the do the pros and cons of a concept that while everyone may agree with the cons, they are far outweighed by the pros making everyone…well, you will see.

The Pros and Cons of Dogs….how can their ever be a con? Well, okay, walking them in the rain is a con…

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
Look at that precious face…

but it’s better than them going in the house…

dog accident
Oops, sorry…but its raining outside…

Then their is the con of pet hair on you clothes… but the pro is you are making a fashion statement.

dog-hair-on-pants
Black hair on white pants is even better…

Beside the obvious attributes that can be cons, lets talk about the gut wrenching emotional pros…like cuddling

Cuddling, touching, companionship is a powerful pro for dog ownership.

And their love is timeless. They are all in with their owners. Totally devoted to us.

doggies

And their devotion sometimes make us laugh temporarily forgetting the day’s trials.

doglove

So very true…they give us an emotional support that sometimes surpasses anything we may run  into during any given day.

We just have to make sure we are deserving of that devotion and try to mirror that love and devotion out into the world showing the world it possibilities through kindness as was first started at creation. Always be kind to all kinds.

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Animals

Jansenphoto has a fun Tuesday Photo challenge and I haven’t played in awhile. But today was right up my alley, animals, and I had to play.

As pet owners across this world, we think we have pets for our fun and entertainment but truth be known, we are the pets and they are the owners. Example: Can’t you wait two minutes until the commercial? Answer,  No – Fine. Thank goodness for the pause button.

Mimi, out NOW!

Then  of course when it is time for bed, who really owns it and can I please get in? It’s not your bed!

IMG_20200218_131043
What do you mean it’s not my bed??

And of course, I just HAD to have another dog…so now the sofa is somewhat off limits as well. I get the end edge.

IMG_20200328_133818

Then you have those pets with attitude and the proverbial ability of talking back. I don’t know if your dogs do this trick but two out of the three dogs in this house do.

The grumbling mumbling tone I hear says  “Do you not understand what I am telling you?” And of course, she is teaching Daisy all the tricks.

My daughter lives downstairs in the basement and her dog Max has looks that can kill, or make you roll over laughing.

I can’t believe you asked me that question!

But we love our furbabies. From cats to dogs to exotics, they make us smile and bring us joy. Especially now that we are cooped up inside our homes. May you enjoy my furbabies and I look forward to seeing the animals you post.

And as always I remind you to be kind. Right now we all need the help and kindness of each other to survive this mess.

Reflections of Love

Hello everyone, I hope you are all safe and well.  I copied this from my daily devotion to my church family. I though it would be a good reminders while we are stuck on our homes to remember God is still holding us in love.

Today is a day of pranksters and tom foolery but I challenge us to make it a day of love with smiles. 1 John to me is a nuts and bolts of God. First off – God is Light – 1:5: –God is light: in him there is not darkness at all.  Second – God is Love – Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Third – God is Life – 5:11-12 – God has given us eternal life and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the son has life. Lastly,  but not in 1 John – He is King – Rev 19-16 – On his robe and across his thigh he has his name written KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

If he is my King, which he is, and I am his child, which I am, then that makes me a princess. I can  live with that and even though my crown is seldom straight and sometimes not even showing, he will loving turn me around and fix it  then remind me of who I am and what I am supposed to be doing.

For those who know me, know that I am a major lover of animals and believe nature can sometimes teach us the very nature of God, for God created them as well and God is love. So I leave you with some pictures of other things God creates and how they in turn reflect his very nature of love.

Always remember the PROFOUND love he has for you and let it encourage your heart today.  And as always remember to be kind. It is the very essence of God.

Does Your Fridge Know You?

Who besides me loves refrigerator magnets?  I have many but love my smiley face ones. Recently I had to replace my refrigerator and the stuff that was all over my fridge fill a Walmart plastic bag. Sad. My fridge was suffocated by my stuff. Not all was junk, some was grandkid pictures, neat magnets of places I had been, thought provoking pictures and cartoons and etc.

IMG_20190401_165936
And of course reminders and appointments

We go in and out of our fridges multiple times a day so its a place that sometimes collects our happy thoughts. I know my does. Although I did clean up the new fridge a bit, after all, the grandbabies are now in school and no longer babies. It is now in a purposeful order, heart on the front, smiles on one side and important business card and data on the other side.

IMG_20191004_075118

Picture of me that was in the paper when I face painted for the kids park, precious pictures of dogs that show their heart, magnets my daughter cross stitched for me, and important reminders.

One side shows my two favorite B.C. cartoons, the all important recipe for instant mash potatoes because the box itself was destroyed and the potato flakes ended up in a plastic container and an reminder from a meeting at church on showing kindness. The other side show business cards for repairmen.

My refrigerator has become my visual communication board helping me to remember some appointment stuff while reminding me the important heart reminders of caring, kindness and ways to smile.

Does your fridge talk to you? Share of you like, its part of who we are.

As my fridge reminds me to smile and be kind, I also remind you to smile and be kind. You never know how that kind gesture may just change someone world.
