JusJojan & Monday Windows a Possibility

It is a possibility to join two blog ideas that have nothing in  common but in reality if you turn your words right anything can be a possibility. For instance…

The possibility for modern day construction to be able to replicate the beauty created in older stone work of buildings made in the early 1900 is not really possible or feasible thus making it an impossibility.

Coming home from work today I caught the image of the windows of the 3rd and 4th floors of the county government building and was intrigued by their beauty. I was driving so I apologize for them not being straight, plus it is my phone camera.

This spring I plan to make a blog post on the beauty of the stonework in my area. Some of it is quite beautiful and some of it you look at and go ‘what were you thinking’ thus proving the possibility of most any design regardless of it making sense. Maybe by then I will have a real camera.

May you have a week of great possibilities that make you happy. And if you do or even if you don’t, remember the rest of us struggling with our impossibilities and be utmost kind.

Thoughts To End the Day

The Day is Done

What joy we can have at the end of each day

Watching the sun as it goes on its way

The colors will change with the losing of light

With oranges to pink then darkness of the night

A time to relax and remember your day

To things you may change and others to stay

In all that we did, were we gentle and kind?

Things to remember to further mankind

Kindness is like honey that is sweet to the soul

It enriches your mind and overflows your bowl.

JustJoJan – Intentions, Jan 5

The saying of good intentions paving the road to hell could not be truer in my house. It was my good intentions to get Mimi a companion to give her company on days that I worked. It was my good intentions that I brought in a puppy home so Mimi could have a playmate.

Now I have two guard dogs who think plastic bags flying in the wind

and the mailman are  mortal enemies…

Two dogs who think the furniture is for their use and benefit…

And dogs who have toys, real and created,  scattered from hither to yon and run  thought the house at break neck speed.

I am in hopes that my intentions play out well as settle down and have less crazy and more relaxing and quiet times.

Hoping for good results of all you good intentions through out the new year. And try to be kind. Even if the outcome of a good intentions is not great, if kindness is used, goodness usually always happens.

The Best Kind of Snow, JusJojan, #SoCS

It is January which means it’s winter in the northern hemisphere which means in some areas the “S” word has arrived. We try not to say that word much here in hopes it stays away. Yea, that didn’t work for Halloween this year with 4 inches and low 20 temperatures. But I have for a picture of today’s snow, the best kind of snow – Snowed all night but due to the warmth of December, the roads were still warm and therefore the roads are still clear. So the trees were beautifully covered. The sky cleared a short while before turning back to winter gray and I was able to grab this picture.

It is amazing to me how hard wood tree twist and turn their limbs for their leaves to get the best sunshine. Even nature knows what is best for it and it tries to get there. We humans sometimes over think things and go way in the wrong direction.

As we push into this new year guiding ourselves in the direction we think is best, let us take a cue from nature and find the best direction.

And as we search for that direction, think of the beauty of fresh fallen snow, its purity and beauty and remember to cover everything with kindness.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Opposites

Nancy has challenged us with showing opposites. I agree that this is not my favorite tine of year and want to remember the fun warmer times of year.

What we have now…

A relaxing afternoon at Vander Veer Botanical Park. Guess the plants need sleep so they can show us beauty in a few months. As you remember the warmth and the beauty of spring and summer, remember that kindness brings its own warm. So spread the warmth of kindness and watch the flowers grow.

Morning Thoughts

As I rush out the door to work I bring you a morning thought. May we all come to the throw as a child and let God surround you with his gracious peace.

Pray3.

And remember the value of kindness. Not only does the person receiving kindness benefit but you will be bathed in peace when you share it.

JusJoJan, January 2nd

Linda Hill has created again the fun monthly task of Just Jot January to help us get on track for the new year and to have fun doing it.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 2nd, 2020, is “a picture you’ve taken in the last week.”

Well, seeing that yesterday was January 1, find enclosed the picture of the meal prepared yesterday in honor of Gladys, my mother. She would have been proud.

Hope your new year meal was a grand as mine and since it was a good start, lets remember this is only day 2 and we have plenty of time in the year to do what is right by being kind in all we do.

Escapist Coloring Club, January 2020

I think all of us need something that helps us escape the stress and noise of the day and since I can not do the long walks that I love very often, I needed another avenue. Then Linda Hill  created a way for us to share our release by creating Escapist Coloring Club. When I was young, art was  very important and now I have enjoyed various adult coloring books and calendars of which some can be quite challenging. My current book is of animals but made out of flowers and leaves. Today we have mother bear and cub.

IMG_20200101_133342

I think this book shows us that even with fierce animals, somewhere inside they are as beautiful as any flower.

As I watch the wildlife shows and the wonderful pictures from photographers who follow wildlife, it is evident to me that all creation understands right, wrong, and the emotions the creator gave all of his creation. Their trust is what is missing. But I have seen photos of unlikely wild beast showing kindness to a less fierce specie. A humans, we should take our cues from these animals and understand the full value of kindness and make sure we are always ready to share it. So I challenge you for the coming year to be conscious of situations where maybe just a gentle smile is all that is needed, but try to be aware and show kindness when you can.
