Spring…it’s finally coming and new life is starting.
My rose
Now to keep the deer away from it…my first flower…plant
Remember as it gets closer, the smiles it brings. At this time social distancing prevents us in getting close but a smile can be seen across the street. So smile and always be kind.
A quick shout out to everyone in hoping you are all safe and well.
Irene of Heaven’s Sunshine has a Monday post of macro photography, and while I only have my cell phone, it does a pretty decent job. Since my state is “shelter in place” we are not out and about but after the spring snow from last night, about 2 inches, I just had to walk around the block. It was early and no one much was out but the distinct sound of the wood peckers tat-tat-tat could be heard as it echoed through the quiet morning. The first couple of pictures follow the “macro” theme but I am also including the beauty I saw this morning of the naked trees draped in the graceful beauty of white as they stretch their limbs toward heaven, something we need to do as well in this time of challenge and sadness. May you all be safe during this time.
Hope you enjoy a few of the 40+ pictures I took from this best kind of snow – beauty with clear streets – not that I am going anywhere…
And as always, remember the beauty of life, even in dark times. There is always a silver lining even though it may be too small to see – it can be felt.
I am fully aware that it is Tuesday but I worked yesterday and then last night was the championship game for college football so that was a focus. Good game played by both sides, unfortunately, someone always has to lose.
So I have not posted on Heaven’s Sunshine SMM in a while because there are no flowers and that us what I love to get close to. As I was heading to work yesterday I saw these tiny paw prints in the snow. They may be canine or possibly feline, regardless too cold to be out lose.
I praying its not the high pitched puppy I periodically hear crying. My ideas of how to care for a pet are totally different than some of my neighbors. My “protectors” are my 4 legged children and not to be left out in the cold.
Monsters in the form of teenage boys – definite creatures to be wary of. LOL.
As we are getting full into winter I pray you all stay warm and healthy, as well as your pets, and remember to always be kind to all kinds.
On any given plant that flowers, it is the bloom that gets all the credit of beauty, delicacies, fragrance and I could go on. But the leaves are what feed the the blooms, protect them, give them a stage where they are the center of the attraction. So today’s post is a tribute to the beauty of the leaves of one of my violets blooming like its spring. This tie in with Irene’s Sunshine Monday Macro and Cee’sFlower of the Day.
Thick fuzzy leaves with deep veins and a rough bumpy texture.
This is proof for people as well, we all are different and special and add character to the whole when we work together in beauty of our strengths.
May we in the season of giving, give of ourselves and come together with our strengths to show the beauty God created when he created us. Give kindness when its least expected and watch the lights ignite in their eyes.
Irene of Heaven’s Sunshine has a fun Monday post of macros which usually in my mind goes to tiny flowers and insects. Today with 3 inches of snow on the ground, I was not going to find that but I did see these on the steps going down to the garage.
To me they stated, “We know it snowed but we are still here.” Nature has a marvelous way of survival even in hard natural disasters, which of course this is not.
But we can learn from nature in more ways than this. We are stronger and more resilient that we realize. And as the quote says that I have seen several times… “Sometimes God calms the storms and sometimes he calms us and lets the storm rage.”
So stand strong and be kind. You may just be the hope someone else is looking for and together your are even stronger that alone.
I have heard the saying of flies after honey but I always think of them after the sugars on our plates. Do they really go after honey in flowers? Apparently as my dianthus was covered.
Come join in on the fun of Monday Macros with Heaven’s Sunshine and share the fun with macros.
And as a reminder for the start of the day, always find ways to be kind. A smile, hug or sweet hello.
Irene Tron of Heaven’s Sunshine has a marvelous challenge to play with macros on Mondays, so come play along.
My entry for today is a baby spider plant. A friend was giving a bunch away so I took a couple. We will see how it goes. My variegated ones do not make babies for some reason although they they multiply thickly in the pot.
New spider plant baby
Interesting that the leaf foliage has started but yet the white bloom is still a tiny tiny bud. new life is always exciting even in plants. I just hope my banana tree revives. I will post pictures if new leaves appear.
Remember how precious all of life is and treat all living creations with tenderness and care…and some with caution. Try to reflect the love and grace given you by God, to reach out to others to help them feel the love only God can give and try to always be kind.
I have no clue what this critter is. He is a good three inches long. His coloration of army colors is very interesting and his wings as you can see are translucent. The end of his body is weird, like he has a tail. If anyone knows, give me a shout.
